2009 Cria
Establo Rowan (DOB 12.02.09)
Rowan arrived on Thursday 12th February 2009 late in the afternoon. He weighed a healthy 8.8kg at birth and is a strong and healthy cria. He is well covered with a dense, dark fawn fleece, and stands out in a paddock full of white females. His sire is Aviana Farms Enrico and dam Cedar House Fair Queen. He is a full brother to Establo Ferdanand, who has been placed in both National and regional shows. His sire has also received numerous ribbons, and at the recent South Otago A&P show took out the sires progeny award. His dam has never been shown, and was imported from Australia, but has an impressive genetic background including
Cedar House Brave Heart, Purrumbete Inti Top, Purrumbete Sweet Freedom and Benleigh Highland Lass.
On his sire's side there is Purrumbete Sir Titus Salt Top, Purrumbete True Perfection Top and ILR Peruvian Auzengate. We look forward to seeing how he develops over the next year.
Establo Tarkio (DOB 25.02.09)
Tarkio (named after a small town near Missoula, Montana) arrived on Wednesday, 25th February, 2009. He was born a few weeks early, and weighed 6.4kg at birth. A week and half into life and he is doing well. His fleece is starting to even up to a more uniform beige (light fawn) colour. His sire is Aviana Farms Enrico and dam Establo Missoula. On his sire's side there is Purrumbete Sir Titus Salt Top, Purrumbete True Perfection Top and ILR Peruvian Auzengate. His dam side includes National 2004 Show winner Cedar House Perez, out of Windsong Valley Royal Inca, and Cedar House Brave Heart who is out of Purrumbete Inti Top and Benleigh Highland Lass. We look forward to seeing how he develops over the next year.

Establo Icebreaker (DOB 31.03.05)
Icebreaker is out of Cedar House Brave Heart and Cedar House Audrey Jane. He carries genetics from Purrumbete Inti Top, Benleigh Highland Lass and Purrumbete Sweet Freedom on his sire's side, and ILR Peruvian Snowmaster and Cedar House Peru Accoyo Jacomo on his dam's side. Icebreaker had a very distinctive first fleece. It was more suri-like in appearance and feel - slippery and very lustrous. It was also very dense and well crimped (17.7 micron - first fleece). He was placed second at the 2005 National Expo in the Junior Male Huacaya 6 & Under 9 months, 1st Junior Male White-Light Fawn at the 2006 Upper Clutha A&P Show, 4th in the Intermediate Male Huacaya White-Light Fawn Class at the 2006 National Expo, and 3rd in the Senior Male White-Light Fawn Class at the 2008 South Otago A&P Show. He has a very dense lustrous fleece with very little guard hair.
This is Icebreaker's fleece at 3 months of age. Coming up to 4 years of age, Icebreaker still exhibits a very bright fleece that is dense and well crimped. At the 2008 South Otago A&P Show the judge commented on Icebreaker's very bright and dense fleece. We are looking forward to seeing his first progeny, which are due late February 2009. Icebreaker is available for outside stud matings, mobile matings in the greater Dunedin area, and leasing options will be considered. Young Males
Establo Bilbo Baggins (DOB 27.01.08)
Bilbo Baggins is out of ILR Alpine Fiber's Brutus and Cedar House Audrey Jane. Bringing Peruvian Hemingway genetics on his sire's side and ILR Peruvian Snowmaster and Cedar House Peru Accoyo Jacomo on his dam's side, he is proving himself in the show ring. Brutus has won numerous awards, and his progeny continue to dominate the show ring. Bilbo Baggins was pulled out in the top 12 Junior Male Huacaya 6 & Under 9 months Class at the National Expo 2008. More recently he has won first place in the 2008 South Otago A&P Show Junior Male Huacaya White-Light Fawn Class, and taken out the Supreme honours at the 2009 Gore A&P Show, winning his Fleece, Conformation and Composition Classes and taking out Champion Huacaya in the Composite Class. He is a well grown young male with excellent conformation. He has is very dense high frequency crimping fleece (16.8 micron) that is uniform across his body.
Establo Ferdanand (DOB 16.02.08)
Ferdanand is a well conformed alpaca carrying a fleece that exhibits good density, crimp, lustre and fineness (17.6 micron). He has an impressive genetic background including Cedar House Brave Heart, Purrumbete Inti Top, Purrumbete Sweet Freedom and Benleigh Highland Lass on his dam's side, and Purrumbete Sir Titus Salt Top, Purrumbete True Perfection Top and ILR Peruvian Auzengate on his sire's side. He was placed 4th and the National Expo 2008 in the Junior Male Huacaya Medium-Dark Fawn Class; 2nd at the 2008 South Otago A&P Show - taking out Junior Huacaya Reserve Champion; and 1st in the Junior Male Huacaya Medium-Dark Fawn Conformation and Composition Classes at the 2009 Gore A&P Show.
